Genesis –

41:8 – Pharaoh has a dream and he calls for all the occult people in Egypt to interpret his dream. Only God can tell the future, for only God truly knows.

41:14 – Pharaoh calls Joseph at the witness of the butler. Joseph comes out the dungeon, shaves and changes his clothes. *Note: When God calls us, He would have us leave the trappings of our old selves behind. We are new creations in Him.

41:45 – Pharaoh calls Joseph by a new name. He establishes Joseph in Egypt with authority.

41:51 – Joseph names his first son Manasseh. Manasseh means “causing to forget”. For God caused Joseph to forget his toil and all his father’s house.

41:52 – Joseph names his second son Ephraim. Ephraim means “doubly fruitful”. For God caused Joseph to be fruitful in the land of his affliction.

46:33 – Joseph gives direction to his family on how to respond to Pharaoh when they are called by him.

47:29 – Jacob (Israel) is about to die, he asks Joseph to pledge that he will not bury him in Egypt, but in the land his fathers are buried.

48:6 – Jacob adopts Joseph’s sons and they are added to the twelve tribes of Israel and will inherit with them.

49:1 – Jacob summons his sons, and prophecies of the future to come. God gives wisdom and warning.

50:11 – Jacob dies and Joseph buries his father with all the ceremony of the Egyptians. The Canaanites see this and record the death of a great man.
