Exodus –
1:18 – Pharaoh summons the midwives to him. The king had commanded the midwives to kill all the Hebrew boys born. But the midwives feared God and did not do that. God blesses the midwives for this.
2:7 – Moses’ sister offers to fetch a nurse for Moses when he is found by the Pharaoh’s daughter.
2:8 – The daughter tells her to go, and Moses’ sister gets his mother to be his nurse.
2:10 – Pharaoh’s daughter names him Moses, because she drew him out of the water. Moses means “drawn”.
2:20 – Reuel, a prophet, tells his daughters to bring the man that helped them water their flocks. That man was Moses.
2:22 – Moses son is named Gershom. For Moses is a foreigner in a strange land. Gershom means “foreigner”.
3:4 – God calls to Moses out of the burning bush.
7:11 – Pharaoh calls his magicians to prove Moses’ signs as fraudulent.
8:8 – The first time Pharaoh summons Moses and Aaron to take away a plague. The plague is removed and Pharaoh hardens his heart.
8:25 – Again, Pharaoh calls to Moses and Aaron. The plague is removed and again, Pharaoh hardens his heart.
9:27 – Pharaoh calls Moses and Aaron, the plague is removed and he hardens his heart.
10:16 – Pharaoh calls Moses and Aaron, the plague is removed and he hardens his heart.
10:24 – Pharaoh calls Moses and Aaron, the plague is removed and God hardens his heart. The story of this Pharaoh always reminds me that God allows us grace to choose our future. Pharaoh had multiple chances, even before the plagues began, to turn to the God of Israel and he didn’t. God honors Pharaoh’s choice.
12:21 – Moses calls for the elders of Israel to give them directions for the Passover.
12:31 – Pharaoh calls Moses and Aaron for the final time, and tells them to go.
15:23 – The first place of water past the Red Sea had bitter water. They called it Marah. Marah means ‘bitter’.
16:31 – God feeds the Israelites with Manna. They call it Manna. Manna means ‘what is it’.
17:7 – God provides water for the children of Israel and calls the place Massah as they tempted the Lord God. They questioned if He was who He said He is. Massah means ‘temptation’.
17:15 – Moses builds an alter and names it Jehovahnissi. This means ‘Jehovah is my banner’.
19:3 – God calls Moses to tell him of His covenant.
19:7 – Moses calls the elders and tells them of God’s covenant.
19:20 – God calls Moses to the top of Mount Sinai.
24:16 – God called to Moses, from the midst of His glory.
31:2 – God calls an artisan, by name, to build His tabernacle.
33:7 – Moses names the Tabernacle as the Tabernacle.
34:15 – God declares that they shall worship no other god before Him. That they would not be taken by the calls of the heathens.
34:31 – Moses speaks to the leaders, after he talks with God.
35:30 – Moses tells of the artisan, God has called by name to build the Tabernacle.
36:2 – Moses calls all those who God has given the wisdom to build and fashion the items for the Tabernacle.
