Study "Woman" - Ruth

Ruth –

1:5 – Reference to Naomi and the loss of her husband and both sons.

3:8 – Boaz rolls over and discovers Ruth at his feet.

3:11 – Boaz response to Ruth asking for his hand in marriage. He takes on all responsibility and references her reputation as part of his reasoning. She is known for her virtue.

3:14 – Boaz allows her to sleep. Then commands his own to keep the situation private. That her reputation would not be tarnished.

4:11 – The response from the elders at the gate. They acknowledge their witness and wish that the Lord would make Ruth like Rachel and Leah.

4:12 – “Blessing” on Boaz and Ruth, that their house would be like the house of Pharez. Pharez was the illegitimate child of Judah with his daughter-in-law. (See Genesis 38 for full story)
