1 Kings –

3:17 – The story of Soloman and the two women. Two women come before Soloman arguing over a child. Both women were living in a house together and both delivered sons within 3 days of each other. One woman’s son died due to her rolling over on him in her sleep. She woke in the middle of the night, realized this, and replaced the other lady’s living son with her dead one. The other woman realized what had happened in the morning, when she was able to look at the dead child. This is the first woman telling her side of the story.

3:18 – Continuation of her story

3:22 – The women arguing over who is the mother of the living son.

3:26 – Soloman calls for a sword to cut the child in half, giving one half to one woman and one half to the other. The one woman agreed to that, and one told him to give the child to the other woman, but not to kill it. The one willing to give up her son that he would live, was the child’s mother. She was sent home with the child.

11:26 – This describes the mother of Jeroboam (the man that God sends to divide Israel after the death of Soloman) as a widow.

14:5 – Jeroboam’s son gets sick, so he has his wife disguise herself and go to the prophet Ahijah, seeking healing for their son. This is where God tell Ahijah what is going to happen.

17:9 – God commands Elijah to go see a widow in Zarephath.

17:10 – Elijah obeys God. He asks this woman to fetch him water. After this he asks her to feed him. She tells him that she does not have enough for herself and her son and Elijah as well. Elijah tells her to go ahead and feed him and that neither she nor her son will go hungry while the drought lasts. The Lord does not fail in His Word.

17:17 – This same woman’s son dies and comes to Elijah about it. She goes to Elijah, upset. Elijah cries unto the Lord for the life of the child, and God hears Elijah, and raises the son.

17:24 – The woman declares that Elijah is a man of God and that God’s word is Truth.
