Leviticus –
1:1 – The Lord calls to Moses and talks to him out of the tabernacle.
9:1 – Moses calls Aaron and his sons and tells them to make a sin offering to the Lord. Sin can only be atoned for by a sacrifice without blemish.
10:4 – Moses calls the sons of Aaron’s uncle to drag Aaron’s sons out of the temple of God. They tried to offer a strange (loathsome) fire to the Lord, against God’s commands, and God killed them.
Numbers –
11:3 – The people started complaining to God and the fire of the Lord consumed them. They cried to Moses and Moses prayed and the Lord quenched the fire. Moses called the place Taberah. Taberah means ‘burning”.
11:34 – People complained about the Mana that God had given them to eat. God sent quail and those who ate it, died. God called the place Kibrothhattaavah. That means “graves of lust”.
12:5 – Aaron and Miriam started talking against Moses, specifically because of his wife. God comes down in a pillar of fire at the door of the tabernacle and calls Aaron and Miriam to Him.
13:16 – Moses changes Joshua’s name. It was Oshea and he calls him Jehoshua. (It always kind of stuns me that an entire book of the bible is named after Jesus. (Jesus is the Greek form of the name Joshua.))
13:24 – The spies return with one cluster of grapes that had to be carried on a pole between two of them. The place was called Eshcol. Eshcol means “cluster”.
16:12 – Moses calls to two men to and they refused they were a part of the rebellion of Korah.
21:3 – God heard the request of Israel and delivered the Canaanites into their hand. The place was called Hormah, which means ‘devotion’.
22:5 – Balak calls to Balaam, complaining about the people of Israel and asking Balaam to curse them.
22:20 – Despite his willingness to take money from Balak, Balaam still asks God for His word. God tells him to go with the men when they call him.
22:37 – Balak had called Balaam, who has come to him every time he was called. But Balaam cannot curse the people of God. God will not let him.
24:10 – Balak is angry at Balaam. Not only did Balaam not curse the Israelites, but he blessed them. This happened every time Balak called him.
25:2 – The daughters of Moab call the children of Israel to sacrifice unto false gods and bow down to them.
32:41 – To children of Manasseh take their inheritance from the Amorites. One (Jair) names a group of towns Havothjair, which just means “villages of Jair”.
32:42 – Another son, Nobah took another town and named it after himself. Nobah means ‘barking’.
