2 Kings -

3:10 – The king of Israel has joined with the kings of Judah and Edom to fight Moab (God has called them). And he is despairing. The king of Judah asks for a man of God.

3:13 – Elisha does not care for the king of Israel, but for the sake of the king of Judah, he seeks God’s wisdom, for the three kings that God called against Moab.

4:12 – Elisha calls for a woman that convinced her husband to provide shelter and food for Elisha and his servant.

4:15 – Elisha asked her what he could do for her and she said nothing. He asked his servant, who told him she wanted a child. Elisha calls her again and tells her that she will bear a son. She thinks he’s lying to her. Until she has a son.

4:22 – This woman’s son becomes ill and she calls to her husband to bring her an ass that she might seek the aid of the man of God.

4:36 – Her son is raised from the dead. And Elisha calls her to come pick up her son.

5:11 – The Syrian general is upset that Elisha told him to bathe in the Jordan. His servants ask him, if it was a great feat, he would have willing done it. Why not the simple thing? He obeys and is healed.

6:11 – The king of Syria is upset, because it seems that he has a spy in his midst. The king of Israel knows everything he plans. It is actually God giving direction to Elisha.

7:10 – A group of lepers discover that God has chased off the armies of Syria. They go and call upon the porter of the city to tell that the Syrians have abandoned their camp.  – Do not keep good news to yourself. Share the blessings of God.

7:11 – That porter went and called upon the kings household to tell of the news.

8:1 – Elisha warns the woman whose son had been raised, of a famine. He tells her to get out and come back in 7 years and that all will be restored to her. She does, and the king restores everything that was hers and all the fruits of her land.

9:1 – Elisha sends a child to anoint the next king of Judah. The fall of Ahab and Jezebel is prophesied.

10:19 – Jehu calls all the prophets of Baal, supposedly for a sacrifice, but actually that he might kill them all.

12:7 – The king tells the priests to stop taking money from the people and to use what they have to rebuild the temple. They agree to stop taking money but refuse to build the temple. The king collects money and organizes the rebuilding. – It is not enough to stop sinning, but you must change direction and do the will of God.

14:7 – Edomites are slain, the valley is called, Joktheel, which means, “the blessedness of God”.

18:4 – Hezekiah removes the high places and breaks the brazen serpent the Moses made. He called it Nehushtan, “a thing of brass”. The children of Israel were worshipping the symbol and not the God it represented. – Be careful of what you worship.

18:18 – The representatives of the king of Assyria calls to the king of Judah. He’s going to talk smack and besmirch God’s character. – Oops.
