Study "Called" - 1 Chronicles

1 Chronicles –

4:9 – A man in the line of Hur of the tribe of Judah. His mother called him, Jabez, which means sorrow, because she bore him with sorrow.

4:10 – Jabez called on the God of Israel, to keep him from evil and bless him. And God answered his prayer.

6:65 – The cities given to the children of the tribes of Simeon and Benjamin were called by their names.

7:16 – Manasseh had two sons. One was Zelophehad, the other Maachah. Maachah’s wife bore a son that she called Peresh, which means dung.

7:23 – Ephriam conceives a son and he calls him, Beriah. Which means “with a friend” or “calamity to his house”. – I’m not sure how that works…

11:7 – The city in which David dwells, comes to be called the city of David.

13:6 – David seeks to move the ark, that has the name of the God of Israel on it.

13:11 – The location where Uzzah was slain for touching the Ark is called Perezuzza, which means, “breach of Uzzah”. God comes back to David, because he did not move the ark in the correct manner which lead to the death of Uzzah.

14:11 – David asks God if He will deliver the Philistines into David’s hand. God tells him that He will. David crushes them through God’s deliverance, and the location is called, Baalperazim. Which means, “lord of the breaks” or “place of breaches”.

15:11 – David calls for the priests to properly move the ark of the Lord.

16:8 – Beginning of Psalm of praise! That we should give thanks to the Lord and call upon His name, and make His deeds known among the people.

21:26 – An angel gives David the direction to build an alter to the Lord in a specific location. David does, offers burnt offerings and peace offerings, and calls upon the Lord. Who answers him with fire from Heaven.

22:6 – David calls his son Solomon to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.
