Study "Woman" - Ecclesiastes & Isaiah

Ecclesiastes –

7:26 – A woman with a heart of snares and nets will have hands of bands. Sinners will be caught by her, but those who please God will escape her.

7:28 – Listed with men. No man nor woman found that is upright of themselves.

Isaiah –

13:8 – Description of God’s Judgement in the end times. Pain comes “as a woman that travaileth”. This indicates labor or birth pains.

21:3 – Same phrase as above. “A woman that travaileth”.

26:17 – Again, the same thing worded differently. “as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery”.

42:14 – To cry out as a travailing woman.

45:10 – Indicating the ridiculousness of questioning the purposes of our Maker. Compares to asking parents about the children they bring forth.

49:15 – Part of a promise to Zion (Israel). They think God has forgotten them. God asks if a woman could forget her nursing child. Then says, that even if they forget, He will not.

54:6 – Part of God’s assurances to Israel. He has put them away temporarily, but He will not forget them and it will be only for a short time.
